The president of CUPE 2626 supports most of the functions of political representation, strategic direction and coordination of works of different agents of the Union. He follows up with the other executive officers and employees of CUPE 2626 on the major issues of the Union and makes the necessary decisions to ensure smooth daily operations and the achievement of the mandates of the members and department stewards.

Felix is a doctoral candidate in Political Science at the School of Political Studies at the University of Ottawa since fall 2008. After two sessions of research and teaching assistantship, he was elected in May 2009 as chief steward of CUPE 2626. In the winter of 2010, he ran for the presidency of the Union and was elected in May 2010.
