Health and Safety Officer

  • The Health and Safety Officer is in charge of OHSC 2626.

  • The Health and Safety Officer is responsible for acting as a liaison with the membership and the University to ensure the best possible working conditions for our members.

  • The Health and Safety Officer is responsible for overseeing the environmental and sustainability initiatives of the CUPE 2626

  • The Health and Safety Officer must present, at the AGA. 11.7.5. Subject to article 9.2, the Health and Safety Officer is in charge of the OHSC 2626. As such, she
    a) appoints delegates to the SOHSC under the recommendation of the CSs, but she has a right of veto;
    b) ensures that the delegates fulfill their duty;
    c) calls the meetings of OHSC 2626;
    d) presents to the EC a periodical report of OHSC activities;

  • The Health and Safety Officer holds one of the two seats on the UOHSC.

  • The Health and Safety Officer must fulfill all other tasks deemed necessary for the good working order of CUPE 2626.

  • The Health and Safety Officer may be assigned specific tasks and duties by the President or by the EC.

  • The Health and Safety Officer must report on her activities to the EC.

  • At the end of her mandate, the Health and Safety Officer must submit to the EC a written report which will then be filed in the CUPE 2626 archives. 11.7.11. Subject to Article 14, the position of Health and Safety Officer is a paid position.
